Cultivating Joy in the Nontypical Life with Robyn Rosenberg

Hey listeners! This week I am sharing part 1 of my conversation with Robyn Rosenberger, mom of 3 and founder & CEO of TinySuperheroes. TinySuperheroes is a company seeking to empower kids and families as they overcome illness or disability.  Robyn actually isn’t a special needs mom but she clearly has a servant heart and followed her calling to helping these families and inserting herself into the special needs world.

Robyn shares such a similar passion to help these special needs families. We agree that these special needs parents have the same struggles as other parents along with their unique struggles and the isolation that comes along with all this.  They need a community and support just as much as their children do and it gets out on the back burner so often.

We get into talking about choosing joy and how it’s not an all-encompassing choice.  It’s feeling those feelings of guilt, anger, grief and still being able to choose moments of joy alongside those other feelings.

Robyn encourages other special needs moms (and all parents) to let go of the picture perfect model for how children should be, and should grow up, etc. The excitement is in the all the options and possibilities for these children.  They can be just as happy without this one-size fits all life model.

Check back next week for more of our conversation!
