Part III: The Recovery –The Real, the Raw and the Relatable Behind the Scenes of Our Surgery and Recovery

Hello listeners and welcome to part three of the series I have been doing about our experience with Levi’s recent surgery and the recovery process.

This week I am focusing on talking about my personal recovery process. I want to emphasize that I feel like I was in survival mode and I reference the Polyvagal theory

Which talks about fight/flight and freeze when you’re in extreme physical or emotional circumstances. I recognize in hindsight that I was coming out of the freeze phase of this and it is not a smooth process.

Let me start by saying I think I had a lot of fear about never being myself again. For a while, I didn’t feel like doing anything, I had no motivation, creativity and lacked connection to others. In this episode, I talk about different things that I implemented to support myself during this personal recovery.
