Why Being of Service Feels So Empowering

Ever feel like life is throwing curveballs, and your instinct is to grab the steering wheel and hold on tight? Yeah, I’ve been there. In this week’s podcast episode, I dive into a personal reflection about control, joy, and what it really means to embrace the beautiful chaos of life. Spoiler alert: It’s all about shifting my mindset to focus on being of service.

Over the winter break, my family hit some high highs (hello, Disneyland magic 🎢) and navigated some low lows (parenting challenges, anyone?). Somewhere in the mix, I realized that my planning tendencies were keeping me from fully seeing and enjoying the amazing life right in front of me.

I also share a big win in advocacy for my son, Levi, and reflect on how receiving support can sometimes feel just as challenging as not having it. Turns out, expanding your comfort zone applies to good things, too!

But the biggest shift came when I started asking myself: What would it look like to show up with love and intention—to be of service? That simple question changed everything.

💡 In the name of service, the recent fires in LA have left many families, including special needs moms, facing unimaginable challenges. If you want to help those in need, let me know—our community is ready to support and show they’re not alone.

I hope this episode inspires you to pause, reflect, and maybe even reframe your own challenges. Let’s lean into the beauty of service, together.

What does being of service mean to you? I’d love to hear your thoughts—drop a comment or reach out!

See you next time,
Kara
